剧情：
巴里（亚当·雷纳 Adam Rayner 饰）和莫利（詹妮佛·芬尼甘 Jennifer Finnigan 饰）是一对感情十分要好的夫妻，两人生活在美国，膝下育有一儿一女，生活十分平静。然而，巴里的一生注定不可能平凡，因为他的父亲是统治中东某国的独裁者。曾经，巴里因为无法忍受父亲的暴政而离开了祖国，如今，侄子的婚礼在即父亲身体欠佳，几十年未曾与家族联系的巴里决定携全家重返故乡。
巴里的归来受到了哥哥贾马尔（阿希拉夫·巴姆 Ashraf Barhom 饰）的热烈欢迎，婚礼当天，巴里的父亲不幸中风去世，而本该接替其位成为总统的贾马尔又遭遇了意外，家族处于危机之中，暴乱一触即发，冲动之下巴里决定留在故乡，辅佐贾马尔
