剧情：
《豹头王传说》是栗本薫所著的长篇小说，作品讲述以主人公Guin为中心，在架空的世界、时代中的人们生与死的故事。作品从描写国与国的战争、策略、兴亡到市井人们的欲望、爱情、友情、仇恨等，是一部历史巨篇。小说从1979年9月推出第一卷《豹头的假面》以来，到2008年12月已推出123卷正传、21卷外传，总计发行部数超过2800万册，受到了众多读者的支持。小说在2003年推出英文版，随后再被翻译成德、泰、俄、法等语言，今后还将推出中文版和韩文版。小说还于2000年由柳泽一明作画推出首部改编漫画《七个魔道师》，这次是小说的首次动画化。 动画版由Satelight制作，监督为若林厚史（代表作：《幽游白书》、《火影忍者》），系列构成&剧本为米村正二（代表作：《口袋妖怪》系列、《花田少年史》），角色设定为村田峻治（代表作：《机动警察》剧场版），音乐则是RPG名作《最终幻想》系列的御用作曲家植松伸夫。 故事主角是连自己的出生地都不记得了的豹头战士古因，生于架空的世界，架空的时代，以他为中心，一幕幕的生死在上演。这部有如《三国志》般宏大的背景设定中，国与国之间的连年战争、谋略、兴亡正顺着命运的齿轮在转动，其中交织着宫廷、市井人物间的形形色色人物的野心、妄念、友情、诀别、恋爱等爱憎交织的感情大戏。
